Summary

A Community Portal is your ultimate reference for editors and readers, since not all editors or readers want to join a Wiki Social Media handle it's hard to communicate knowledge to people who don't want additional social media to look at or even read.

Community Portal

While a Community Portal might seem odd to add on paper it's a great refrence to have. Take ARK Wiki and Flight Sim Community Portals for example. While both are similar in ways in which they state the wiki.gg Staff, active Admin's on the wiki you're visiting and any active translators editing the wiki they both offer different functionality on both.

Remember to keep your Community Portal easy to understand and easy for new visitors to understand the current projects the wiki is undertaking. For the Template, see below.

Sidebar

After creating the Community Portal article, please head to your [[MediaWiki:Sidebar]] and add in ** portal-url|portal in the navigation tab. Upon adding this in, the Community Portal link will now appear in your sidebar for Editors and Readers to click on.

After this content is generated purge the Community Portal page by appending ?action=purge to the end of the article so the templates can show properly. You can also install the Purge Gadget to easily purge articles faster.
