Summary

Licenses are used on media/file uploads to properly categorize and to denote the file's license usage.

Note

If you plan on adding the uploadMultipleFiles gadget to your wiki, you will need these license parameters in order to upload multiple files. Use the following list to export license templates (remove licenses you don't need):

Manual

  1. You may manually copy/paste each template from below over to your wiki, or use Special:Import on the XML file generated from exporting template pages from this wiki.
  2. You don't need all the templates, although each one has a purpose. Common licenses to include: Developer, Fairuse, CC-BY-SA, CC-BY and CC-SRR
  3. (IMPORTANT) Update your wiki's MediaWiki:Licenses page (see below) for the licensing options to show up in the dropdown.
