Welcome to our ninth TULIPS (Thursday Updates & Logs Improving Platform Software)! You can read the previous one if you haven't yet.
These posts will be made whenever we have enough development updates to make a post, usually on Thursdays.
Live now
- Access to pages with titles such as "tests" or resembling file extensions should no longer be blocked.
- We're testing some server scaling changes that may reduce the frequency of temporary service interruptions during heavy traffic.
- Previously, on wikis with CommentStreams users would be emailed about every new comment on their watched pages. We've now disabled this by default. Users can still opt into these emails in their notification preferences.
- At Special:RecentChanges, you can now filter duration by up to 90 days (previous max was 30, and you had to edit the URL directly to get up to 90).
- We've added a custom namespace request form to our Servicedesk.
Support wiki
We are working on some improvements to the support wiki. Please check recent changes to follow what we're working on and consider contributing!!
DRUID
The support wiki Module:Infobox is currently ahead of the stable version (dlw:Module:Infobox). Please try out the new version if you are willing! You only need to copy the module.
The update is that titles can now be tabbed, for example if you have |tabs=egg,hatchling,dragon then you can write the following:
|egg_title=Dragon (Egg) |hatchling_title=Dragon (Hatchling) |dragon_title=Dragon (Adult)
This change required a refactor of quite a bit of code so I do need 2-3 wikis to test this before promoting it to stable. Please test & report back!! Remember you can give yourself the @Druid announcements role in Discord to get updates about DRUID infobox in Discord, and we have a #druid-infoboxes channel now!
Known issues
- We're aware of math rendering issues on some mobile browsers.
- Extension:InputBox doesn't permit empty fields when editing a page with real-time previews.
