Welcome to our 44th TULIPS (Thursday Updates & Logs Improving Platform Software)! You can read the previous one if you haven't yet.

New features

  • <syntaxhighlight> tags:
    • Added support for UnrealScript highlighting (lang="unrealscript").
    • In CSS blocks, uploaded file references using filepath:// now appear as clickable links to the file description page.
  • Added support for the thumbtime option when embedding videos. This allows specifying the thumbnail's timestamp.
  • MediaWiki converts packed-hover galleries into the packed-overlay mode on touch-screen devices. Such converted galleries now also get marked with a wgg-mw-gallery-packed-converted CSS class.

Improvements

  • Improved the thumbnail generation speed for GIFs.
  • Some of our firewall rules have been adjusted to reduce the risk of challenge reappearance.
  • Notification dropdown menus now have links to "All notifications" or to "Configure notifications" rather than "All notifications" and "Preferences". The link target is unchanged.
  • Interlanguage links to external sites are now marked with an icon to match link behavior in articles.
  • Special:PermanentLink now redirects to canonical page URLs.
  • At Special:Block , the notice about other existing blocks (either local or a global account block) is now more distinguished from the rest of the page.

LIBRARIAN (Cargo)

  • Fixed allowed values constraint behavior.
  • Fixed regex constraint behavior for list columns.

DLW

  • If your wiki was created in the last week or so or you copied the IMP gadget conversion from last week's TULIPS, the main page welcome box was intended to have an inline text-align:center; on it, but this got missed. (diff)

Bugfixes

  • Fixed an error at Special:PagesWithoutThumbnails .
  • On wikis with SimpleMathJax extension instead of Math (for language support), fixed an issue with Mathjax being loaded multiple times under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed an issue around global messages with spaces in names.
  • Fixed an issue with API's help pages not receiving complete CSS bundles.

Table Checklist Project (TCP) - Users will be able to apply checkmarks to items in tables and have the checked/unchecked state saved locally in their browser. Checkmarks will be added when tables are given a certain class. Full specification will be available when we're ready to release. Documentation is available at Table checklists.

WIP

  • Animated png (apng) support will be added to all wikis.

Known issues

  • EmbedVideo embeds may display in an incorrect language.
