Welcome to our 32nd TULIPS (Thursday Updates & Logs Improving Platform Software)! You can read the previous one if you haven't yet.
These posts will be made whenever we have enough development updates to make a post, usually on Thursdays.
Live for a while, we forgot to post it

Improvements
- When editing MediaWiki:Sidebar for the first time on a new wiki, you won't see TOOLBOX, SEARCH, or LANGUAGES; these sections are added automatically by the software. This change hopes to reduce editor confusion.
- If you've already edited your sidebar, feel free to delete these sections on your own wiki, but we won't run any global script for this change.
- Replies to your tickets from Jira Servicedesk (our normal ticket system) will now come from a
@wiki.gg
email address instead ofindieio.atlassian.net
.- You shouldn't notice any change unless you've allowlisted replies from a specific domain in your email client, but hopefully fewer of our emails will end up in spam folders now.
- You can now use the
__UPDATEDAILY__
magic word to have your wiki's main page refresh every 24 hours if you have any dynamic modules, like a creature spotlight! - Updated LanguageConverter tables for the Chinese language.
- Added a new tracking category to Extension:TranslateTweaks (Not currently being added to new wikis) to help validate translation links
Bugfixes
- Fixed a 1.43 regression that caused Extension:Header Footer to stop working.
- Fixed a bug in the CSS minifier which caused colour functions to break when using an RTL interface language.
- Fixed a bug causing the Guided Publication Setup page to use outdated page protection statuses (this only affected the completion status reported on the page for onboarding wikis).
- Fixed Special:ListUsers not displaying users with local user group memberships but without any edits.
Changes we are testing
- Users with unsaved edits that were caught by Special:EditRecovery will see a warning in the netbar; this experiment has been rolled out to TITANs and will be released to all users at a later date.
Known issues
- Due to a DOM change in Google search results, the wiki.gg redirect extension may not be redirecting your search results (though URLs should still get redirected). We will patch this, but we also recommend installing Indie Wiki Buddy (not affiliated with us or with indie.io in any way) in the meantime; that extension will redirect independent wikis as well as most wiki.gg forks.
WE DID THIS
- The Pixel Gun 3D Wiki standardized their notice templates and navbox templates (which now use RANGER!) and also standardized over 1000 file names! File name standardization is a really, really, really important thing for wikis to do, and we're glad to see them able to take advantage of standardized file names now!
