How to create a new page

The easiest way to make a new page is to go to Special:NewPage , but there are several ways to discover new articles to create and then create them.

Special:NewPage (sidebar link)

In the sidebar, under the "Tools" section, there's a link to create a "New page". Clicking on it will take you to Special:NewPage (or on your own wiki, Special:NewPage ), which will provide you with options to enter the namespace and page name. Once done, click "Create" to proceed.

Red links

Creating pages through existing ones is the most common technique of creating pages. Simply click on a redlink and you'll be redirected to the new page creator.

Search for the page

Use the search page and search for the desired page title. If it doesn't exist, it will allow you to create it.

"WantedPages" special page

Special:WantedPages (or Special:WantedPages on your wiki) is a list of the most-linked-to pages that don't exist. You can use this page to analyze which pages need to be created.

From URL

By changing text in the browser address bar after /wiki/, you're effectively navigating to the page with the given name. If the page exists, it will show you the page, but if it doesn't, it will show you a "no article" text message (think of it as the 404 "Not Found" message), and it will allow you to search for the page, search the related logs or create the page.
